Thailand

Fb-Button

This one’s a biggie.

Last October, Mick and I took an incredible trip around Thailand. With almost nothing planned, we woke up each morning to the exhilarating knowledge that every day would be an adventure. We made some truly amazing new friends, saw countryside that took our breath away, and ate a lot of good food. A Lot.

Here we have a very abridged version of those three weeks (as you can imagine, I took a fair few pictures). Featured are some images from Elements Boutique , a resort we stayed at in Taling Ngam, Koh Samui. I cannot rate this place highly enough. The staff were exceptional, the resort itself was like a dream (small, clean in design with elegant water features and lush greenery lining the peaceful alleyways from villa to villa…), and the restaurant – woah. If you ever find yourself in this part of the world, trust me – call on Stephen and his staff at Elements for a truly luxurious and soul-repairing experience.

I also recommend Popeye Guest House in Krabi. AUD $4 a night for all you could need, complete with it’s own Dream Bar – the perfect place for an Olympic level Jenga tournament. Poland vs Thailand vs Australia. Intense times.

Much much love to Pawel, Pawel, Nassima, Brendan, Allison, Nezar, Weston, Janejira, E, Georgia, Dalius, Eddy, Tom, Toe, and all the other beautiful people we met along the way!

Mick and Lucy do Thailand – Enjoy x

Jess Rebeiro and the Bone Collectors

Late last year I went on the road with Jess Rebeiro and the Bone Collectors. When I say ‘went on the road’, I mean I went to one city. Adelaide. On a plane.

Don’t take my rock ‘n’ roll dream away.

Anyway, I had the pleasure of capturing them on stage at Adelaide institutions The Grace Emily and The Wheatsheaf, as well as during their residency at Melbourne’s The Toff in Town. Jess’ exquisite songwriting and vocals are beautifully complimented by Dave, Mick (my fella) and Rob’s harmonies and musicianship – making them one of Melbourne’s best country folk-rock acts around. For details on all upcoming gigs, check in here or here.

Mick and I were in Adelaide this weekend to attend the spectacular wedding of two of my very old and dear friends, Matt and Bessie. Matty and I went to school together, and not long after graduation he met Hong-Yu, or Bessie (as her Australian friends affectionately know her). I wasn’t the official photographer on the day, but of course I took a few hundred snaps. It was an incredible celebration of their love… and what a party! I’ll post many more moments soon, but for now, I give you our Bessie – in all her breathtaking resplendence – taking a final moment to blow a kiss to us all:
